Job Overview:

An actuary, with at least ten years experience (15 for director level) in the financial services industry, is required to support the leader of one of the largest and fastest growing actuarial practices in the Asia Pacific.  The jobholder will help to manage the office and drive actuarial business forward in the region, so the job provides a pleasing combination of consulting and management responsibilities.
 
Typical projects include financial reporting, life actuarial capital requirement assessments, mergers and acquisitions, asset liability management, property and casualty advice (including Solvency II, securitization and pricing, reserving, capital modelling and due diligence) and pension actuarial services.  Clients are predominantly insurers, regulators and investment banks.

 
Requirements for the job:
 
Financial reporting experience is important, as is the ability to manage large actuarial projects.  Key technical requirements include market consistent embedded values and solvency II.  Specialism or expertise in MCEV, IFRS, RBC or other financial and capital management methods  will be very highly regarded for this job.
 
Strong client facing skills are crucial, so a successful track record of developing and managing client relationships in a consulting background will be key to success in this position.  The right person will be able to listen to others and enjoy the prospect of mentoring juniors.
 
Fluent English is important and Chinese language skills preferable.  The role offers great possibilities for advancement in this growing practice.
