A nearly or newly qualified actuary, with a minimum of five years experience in a corporate superannuation environment or international equivalent, is required for the job of managing a team within the Sydney office of an international pensions and benefits consultancy. Responsibilities will include:
· Actuarial and consulting work.
· Provision of quality advice and customer service.
· Pro-active training to develop the skills of team members.
· Driving projects to ensure client delivery within timeframes and budgets.
· Checking calculations performed by other members of the team.
· Manage workflow so that clients’ jobs are done on time as well as providing clients with realistic time frames for jobs
· Keep up to date with developments in superannuation by attending seminars and reading relevant literature
Skills and experience required for the job include:
· Ability to work well within a team.
· Knowledge of consulting environment including culture of chargeable hours and budgets.
· Strong spreadsheet and database skills.
· Experience of actuarial valuations, investment performance and exposure to a superannuation liability valuation software package.
· Familiar with all major international accounting standards, e.g. FAS, IFRS
· Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), have had experience in writing letters and drafting reports.
· Excellent problem solving skills.
· Ability to manage and co-ordinate workflow as well as staff.
· Project Management.
