An established South African consultancy is looking for students to join their head office team in Cape Town for an opportunity to gain experience in pension fund valuations, healthcare and life office work.
Responsibilities include:
· Performing statutory pension fund and life office valuations, including reserving, investment analysis, statutory returns and other necessary documentation and calculations.
· Keeping abreast of industry changes and legislation and performing research.
· Performing medical scheme and remuneration scheme valuations for both life offices and pensions funds. This function will not be a requirement for all successful candidates but is available for candidates who would like to gain exposure to these fields or who would prefer a more dynamic working environment
· Interact with clients and other service providers.
Relevant experience is advantageous, but not necessary. The ideal candidate will be numerate and analytical, task-orientated, systematic and organised, with good communication skills. He or she will be accurate and high attention to detail with a high level of PC literacy.
