My client is an independent Software Vendor, based in Chelmsford Essex. They have an established client base and a continued track record of successfully delivering to and growing business with their customers.
They are looking for an entry level/Graduate Java Developer.
You will get the chance to work on a variety of projects including several brand new projects with established and new clients, which will include greenfield development.
All existing projects based around Java (JDK) 5. Web technology mostly Struts (1 & 2) although also making use of Wicket, with EJB (legacy 2.1, newer projects 3) middle tiers, and JPA back tiers. There will be a great chance to work alongside a high level development team and follow a pragmatic Agile approach.
The ideal candidate will have a 2:1 degree in a scientific or mathematical subject.
Knowlege and academic experience of Java would be an overwhelming advantage. XML, XSL and other core XML-based vocabularies is highly desirable.
There may be occasional interaction with the client so you will need to have excellent communication skills and be comfortable in this capacity.
The role is paying 20k and based in Essex.
